Description

Victron Energy Smart IP43 Battery Charger 12/50 (1+1) 120/240V, for motorhomes and campervans.

Bluetooth Smart enabled
Any smartphone, tablet, or other Bluetooth-enabled device can be used to monitor, change settings, and update the charger when new software features become available.

Phoenix Smart (1+1): two outputs to charge 2 battery banks
The second output, limited to approximately 3 A and with a slightly lower output voltage, is intended to fully charge a starter battery.

Phoenix Smart (3): Three full current outputs for charging 3 battery banks
All outputs can supply the full nominal output current.

Automatic voltage compensation
The charger compensates for voltage drop in the DC cables by gradually increasing the output voltage as the DC current increases. Please refer to the manual for more information.

5-stage adaptive loading algorithm : initial loading – absorption – reconditioning – flotation – storage
The Phoenix Smart Charger features our well-known "adaptive" battery management system, which can be configured for different battery types. Its "adaptive" function will automatically optimize the charging process based on battery usage.

The correct amount of charge: variable absorption time
When the discharge is small (for example, a yacht docked at a pier), the absorption charging phase is shortened to prevent overcharging the battery. After a deep discharge, the absorption charging time automatically increases to ensure a full battery recharge.

Preventing damage from over-gassing: BatterySafe mode
If, to charge a battery quickly, a combination of high charging current and high absorption voltage has been chosen, the charger will prevent damage from over-gassing by automatically limiting the rate of voltage increase once the gassing voltage has been reached.

Reduced aging and maintenance requirements when the battery is not in use: storage mode
Storage mode is activated when the battery has not been discharged for 24 hours. In storage mode, the float voltage is reduced to 2.2 V/cell (13.2 V for 12 V batteries) to minimize gassing and corrosion of the positive plates. Once a week, the voltage is raised back to absorption level to "equalize" the battery. This function prevents electrolyte stratification and sulfation, the main causes of battery failure.

It also charges lithium-ion (LiFePO4) batteries.
Simple on/off control can be implemented by connecting a relay or optocoupler with an open-collector output from a Li-Ion BMS to the remote on/off port. Alternatively, full voltage and current control can be achieved via Bluetooth.

Fully programmable loading algorithm
The charging algorithm can be programmed via Bluetooth or the VE.Direct interface. Three pre-programmed charging algorithms can be selected using the mode button (see specifications).

Remote on/off switch
The system's on/off switch consists of two terminals: remote H and remote L.
A remote on/off switch or relay contact can be connected between H and L.
Alternatively, terminal H can be placed at a higher level or terminal L can be placed at a lower level.
Consult the manual for more details.

VE.Direct Interface
For a wired data connection to a Color Control panel, PC, or other devices.
You can find the VictronConnect application in the Downloads / Software section on the Victron Energy website.

Programmable relay
It can be programmed using the VE.Direct interface or a Bluetooth-enabled device to trigger an alarm or other events.
