Description

Kit of 18 PVC strips of different sizes for campervan conversions and DIY projects in caravans, motorhomes and campervans.

The kit includes: 10 bars of 38 x 30 mm (PRF3920), 5 bars of 60 x 30 mm (PRF 3953) and 3 bars of 50 x 50 mm (PRF3971)

The total length of each slat is 2.50 meters.

Thank you for choosing expanded PVC structural profiles.

3. FITTING The profiles can be glued with polyurethane adhesives such as Sikaflex 221 or Caravan-kleber (SGL145CB).

Thanks to these profiles, you can repair leaky walls or create new ones by replacing traditional wooden beams.

The material used makes them lighter than wooden profiles and they can be molded as needed, and they are not affected by humidity.

NB: This type of product has greater elasticity than wooden profiles.

In certain situations, to achieve the necessary rigidity to support the assembly, it may be necessary to use several beams.

1. SURFACE PREPARATION Expanded PVC profiles are supplied with a glossy surface finish and are ready for use. If it is necessary to reduce the profile thickness, it can be trimmed along its entire length. Finally, if you want the surface to be even more receptive to the adhesive, you can sand the sides of the profile where the adhesive will be applied.

2. CLEANING To improve adhesive adhesion, it is essential to carefully clean the surface of the material to be bonded to the profile (fiberglass or other smooth-surfaced materials) and the profile itself (if it has not been cut or sanded) with Sika Activator-205 cleaner (code SGL205CL). If the profile has been cut or sanded, it is not necessary to use the cleaner.

2. CLEANING To facilitate adhesive adhesion, it is mandatory to carefully clean the surface of the material to be bonded to the profile (fiberglass or other materials with a smooth surface) and the profile itself (if it has not been cut or roughened) with Sika Activator-205 cleaner (code SGL205CL). If the profile has been cut or roughened, the cleaner is not necessary. Rough surface Bonding with Sikaflex 221: distribute the adhesive over the surface of the profile, spread it with a notched trowel, and overlap it with the panel to be bonded, taking care to press the assembly until the adhesive is completely dry.

1 2 Bonding with caravan-kleber: distribute the polyurethane glue over the profile and spread it with a notched trowel, spray water on the surface of the panel to be glued and on the glue and fit the pieces together by pressing the assembly until it is completely dry.

1 4. FIXING SCREWS Given the consistency of the material from which these profiles are made, when screwing with the electric screwdriver it is necessary to adjust the spindle clutch to a low resistance and proceed at a moderate speed to avoid breaking the material.
